This photograph was taken during the Coco River Expedition by Lt. Harold C. Roberts. The back of the photograph has a comment written in pencil: "Plane dropping chow to our patrol" While on the Coco River the Marines had to rely on biplanes to drop food, medicine, orders, and mail.
