The Marine Corps, Navy, State Department, magazines, and newspapers all created maps of Nicaragua to highlight different features of the land. The maps in this collection show what the map makers wanted to communicate to their audience. From an outline of Lines of Communications (LOC) to a map showing the relative location to the United States to an outline of military operational borders: these maps communicated vital information to the viewer. Additionally, you will find manpower charts and data kept by the Navy and a history written by the Marine Corps of their time in Nicaragua in this section.
